Not the cheapest option out there, but well worth it. They do amazing and eliminating echo in a room. They are room darkening and very acoustic absorbing drapes. Quote from: Brian Jojade on November 04, 2019, 04:40:30 PM I'm a HUGE fan of these drapes. Having a banner made would probably cost about the same as renting a complete pipe and drape system of that size, which seems kind of silly. And once you have it, that opens up the opportunity to rent it out other times as well. For something that you can use twice a year, it's not a huge investment. All said and done, you'd be looking at less than $300 for a nice looking backdrop. This kind is awesome and can attach anywhere quickly, like your typical lighting clamp does. These are cheap, and would be a pain to put on and off. This may or may not be a problem depending on how your stage looks. The downside of using tripod stands is that the legs will stick out from the drape. Or, you can get clamps that can attach to your stands. If you want to use your existing stands, you could cut a groove in them that the crossbar connects to. At 16' wide, I'd recommend a stand on each side, then one in the middle.

Anywhere from 5-7 drapes would do the job. If you're looking for a 16 foot gap, you would need anywhere from 16 feet up to 32 feet of drape width, depending on how pleated you want it to look. However, if you put them behind other curtains, you can still get the benefit. The downside is they are only black or white. Is there anyone out there that has found a work-around for this? If not, I'll probably have a banner made to put on the television but black drape would make a better presentation. I assume that I would put a stand on each end with one stand mid way (or two stands?). I currently have 5 pairs of Ultimate Support Speaker stands (two pairs are TS90B's) that can be used. I am open to purchasing appropriate (fire-retardant drape) but would like to use what I already have (and supplement as needed) for mounting equipment if possible. I would rather not go the renting-route as it would take away from the profits. I know that "pipe and drape" would dress up the wall nicely however I have no other use for pipe/drape other than my shows in November and March. It is rather unsightly.so I am looking for a cost-effective way of making the area presentable.

While in that hall I discovered that club/hall has installed a huge TV on the wall (directly behind) where I stage the bands. I recently visited the site to put up posters & firm things up with management. This is the 7th year that I have been doing these.

The shows have 6 bands, (younger groups hs/college aged) with the proceeds going to a charitable music foundation. Twice per year I produce (rent the room, bring PA, print/sell tix, book bands, etc) a band show at a local hall.
